Kappa Epsilon Lambda Royal Christian Sorority, Incorporated

About Kappa Epsilon Lambda

Kappa Epsilon Lambda Royal Christian Sorority, Incorporated is a 501 (c)(4), nonprofit organization established on March 19, 2014 in Columbia SC. This organization was founded by Dr. Chanell Sermon, a licensed minister, ordained by the National Association of Christian Ministers (NACM), a certified life coach, and a teacher in an at risk, rural school district. As of May 12, 2020, Kappa Epsilon Lambda Royal Christian Sorority, Inc. became an independently chartered organization through NACM. Kappa Epsilon Lambda Royal Christian Sorority is a two-time recipient of the I AM H.E.R INTERNATIONAL "Nonprofit of the Year" Award in 2022 and 2023. This organization also a Presidential Volunteer Service Award 2021' Gold recipient

Dr. Sermon, after much prayer, pursued establishing a Christian sorority for women. Ideally, Dr. Sermon believes that sisterhood is about the nurturing the inner woman through Christ and genuine fellowship. She believes that women should realize their status as believers in the Kingdom of God and remember that we are "fearfully and wonderfully made" according to Psalm 139:14 and that we are "a royal priesthood, a chosen generation, a holy nation, and a peculiar people" according to I Peter 2:9. Thus, this sorority is designed for women that have a desire to fellowship in unity and build up others around them through service and encouragement.

As of today, Kappa Epsilon Lambda has eight provinces (chapters) across the United States. They are as follows: Sigma Diamond (South Carolina, the founding province & headquarters; erected in March 2014), Tau Gold (Texas; erected in January 2021), Nu Diamond (North Carolina, erected in February 2021), Lambda Alpha Diamond (Louisiana; erected in February 2021), Gamma Diamond (Georgia; erected in February 2021), Phi Lambda Diamond (Florida; erected in February 2021), Iota Lambda Gold (Illinois; erected in July 2021), and Rho Iota Diamond (Rhode Island; erected in January 2022)

What We Believe
The LORD, our God, is King over everything. Psalms 47:2 and Psalms 47:7
The Lord God is our Father. We are adopted into God’s Family through the Spirit of Adoption. Romans 8:15-16
Jesus Christ is the only way to God our Father. There is no other way to God. We do not claim any other religions such as Islam, Buddhism, etc., as a way to God. John 14:6 and Ephesians 4:5
The Bible is true Scripture from God intended to guide us to righteousness. II Timothy 3:16, John 17:17, and II Peter 1:20-21
Repentance and confession is essential for salvation- Romans 10:9 and Acts 2:38

The Kappa Difference: What makes us different from other sororities?

We believe that true sisterhood should unanimously create an environment of love and acceptance among the Sorors that can't be found in the world so that Christ's love can be seen in us according to John 13:35. This sorority is a ministry available to women that are not currently in another Christian sorority or Pan-Hellenic sorority and understand that our principles are Christ-based. Our theme is royalty as we are lovely, sophisticated, and majestic because of our power through Christ our King! Our sorority structure and protocol is not completely fashioned after traditional sororities because we are majestic. For example, we don't have probates or lengthy processes for Christian women to become members. We simply ask that our potential members answer all questions honestly before submitting a request for membership. This method of completing membership also eliminates any possibility of hazing within our organization.
